Butanding
February of this year, the newly formed Sorsogon Provincial Tourism Council discovered whale shark or locally known as butanding, considering it as a tourist destination in the municipality of Donsol.

Burial Site Casiguran
A jar burial site excavated in Barangay Escuela, Casiguran, Sorsogon reveals some earthenware made of volcanic tuff and clay about a meter in height and 70 centimeters in diameter containing muti-colored whole pieces of flat-round glass beads.

Tigkiw na Saday
In Tigkiw na Saday jar burial site, a 45-minute hike from Barangay Escuala, Casiguran, saw eight (8) burial jars excavated from April 22 to May 21 and October 18. the team from the national Museum came ipon large, circular, dome-shaped flat bottomoed stone covers made of volcanic tuff with an approximate weight of 50 to 60 kilograms.

1st Kasanggayahan
The very first Kasanggayahan Festival was held in October this year during the administration of Gov. Juan G. Frivaldo which was Sorsogon’s 80th Foundation Anniversary as a province.

Kasanggayahan Amphiteater
It was also during this same year, that the Kasanggayahan Amphitheater was constructed where the trade fair, exhibits, cultural performances were heldd during the Kasanggayahan Festival.

The Voice of Sorsogon
With the introduction of radio broadcasting in the province sometime this year, DZVS, or the “Voice of the Sorsogon”, the first station in Sorsogon went on air.
