Provincial Planning and Development Office

The Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) of Sorsogon serves as the primary planning and technical arm of the provincial government, operating under the mandate of the Local Government Code of 1991. Its core functions include formulating integrated economic, social, physical, and other development plans and policies for consideration by the Provincial Development Council (PDC); conducting studies and research to support plan formulation; integrating and coordinating sectoral plans; monitoring and evaluating the implementation of development programs; preparing comprehensive plans and other development planning documents; formulating and recommending fiscal plans and policies; promoting people’s participation in development planning; and providing secretariat support to the PDC and other local special bodies.

Provincial Development Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP)

A strategic planning document that guides the long-term physical and economic development of a province. It aligns land use, infrastructure, and resource management with national and local development goals, ensuring sustainable growth.

Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation (DRR-CCA)

Refers to strategies and actions that aim to reduce the risks and impacts of natural disasters and climate change. These include preparedness, mitigation, and resilience-building efforts integrated into development planning, including the PDPFP, to safeguard lives, livelihoods, and infrastructure.

Provincial Development Investment Program (PDIP)

A medium-term planning document that outlines priority programs, projects, and activities to be implemented within a province. It serves as a tool to align local development goals with national objectives, ensuring efficient use of resources. The PDIP typically includes infrastructure projects, social services, economic development initiatives, and environmental programs, and is often updated every 3 to 6 years in coordination with local government units and stakeholders.

Annual Accomplishment Report

A comprehensive document that details the performance and progress of the Provincial Government of Sorsogon during the preceding calendar year. It’s a vital tool for transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in local governance. The Local Government Code mandates that local chief executives submit these reports to the Sanggunian Panlalawigan by March 31st of each year.

The Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP)

A strategic plan developed through a collaborative process involving the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Provincial Government of Sorsogon, and various stakeholders. It focuses on enhancing the value chains of key agricultural commodities such as pili, seaweed, abaca, swine, native chicken, dairy cattle, and bio diversity. The PCIP aims to identify and implement targeted interventions that improve productivity, market access, and sustainability within these sectors.v

Full Disclosure Policy (FDP)

As implemented by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), mandates that local government units (LGUs) disclose specific financial documents to promote transparency and accountability in public fund management. This policy ensures that constituents are informed about how their LGUs manage, disburse, and utilize budgets for public services.
