The Kasanggayahan Festival is an annual event held in Sorsogon province to commemorate its establishment as a province. This year’s festival is particularly significant as it celebrates the 129th anniversary of the Province’s founding and the 454th commemoration of the believed beginning of Christianity in Luzon at the historic Gibalon shrine in Magallanes, Sorsogon.
The festival is a cultural celebration that features traditional dances, music, and theatrical performances. The grand parade showcases colorful floats and traditional costumes that fill the streets, uniting locals and visitors to celebrate Sorsogon’s unique history and identity. This festival is a time of great pride, community, and happiness for its people.

We extend a warm invitation to all Filipino surfers to join us at the KASANGAYAHAN INVITATIONAL SURF COMPETITION scheduled to take place from October 11th to 13th, 2023, at the picturesque Lola Sayong Eco-Surfcamp in Buenavista, Gubat, Sorsogon, Philippines. This extraordinary event is proudly organized by the collaborative efforts of the Provincial Government of Sorsogon, the Department of Tourism Region 5, the Local Government Unit of Gubat, Sorsogon, under the leadership of Mayor Nono Lim, along with the enthusiastic participation of the local surfing organizations associated with Lola Sayong Eco-surf Camp, headed by Mr. Noli John Mercader
