In an Executive Order signed by Sorsogon Provincial Governor Chiz Escudero, he declared July 29, 2019 as a province wide Special Working Day to fight Dengue. This is in accordance to the previously issued Executive Order No. 29-2019, directing the City Mayor, all Municipal Mayors and Barangay Chairpersons to arrest the prevalence of Dengue by implementing the enhanced 4-S campaign of DOH.

In the new executive order issued this morning of July 22, 2019, all Sorsoganons shall participate in a province-wide Clean-Up Drive to “Search and Destroy” Mosquito Breeding Sites (MBS) in their houses, backyards, places of work, businesses, properties and such other areas where MBS may be found. The said activity shall be participated by all national and local government officials, including barangay officials, students, academic and non-academic personnel of all public and private schools in the Province of Sorsogon. The clean-up drive activity shall be conducted after their respective flag-raising ceremonies. All business establishments, including public markets and terminals and all religious groups, private individuals and barangay residents are also instructed to conduct their respective clean-up drive upon the start of, or before their work hours in their respective places of work or backyards.

The clean-up drive shall be for at least two (2) hours and for a maximum of four (4). This province-wide activity shall be given the widest possible traditional and social media coverage in order to cascade the information to all Sorsoganons. Everyone and every offices are encouraged to post their clean-up drive activities in their social media platforms using the hashtag: #mahalkongSorsogon or send it to the Sorsogon Provincial Information Office official Facebook page.
