Central Bicolano: Ciudad nin Sorsogon; Tagalog: Lungsod ng Sorsogon; A third class city and capital of the Province of Sorsogon, the city was formed in the year 2000 by the merging of Bacon and Sorsogon towns. The city’s total population is spread across 64 barangays. It serves as transhipment point from the Visayas and Mindanao islands, and is dubbed as the “Gateway to Southern Philippines”. Sorsogon City is one of the region’s leading cities in urbanization and the most promising city in terms of development.

SEAFOOD

The sumptuous seafood of Sorsogon City primarily consists of baloko(penshell), tahong(Mussels) and kasag(crab). Seafood is a staple among Sorsoganons and holds a special place on the table of families during special occasions.

PILI NUT

Pilinut kernels are loaded with nutrients such as magnesium, potassium and calcium. More importantly, they are rich in omega fatty acids, phosphorus and have high level of protein, promoting heart health and balancing cholesterol.
