58 Stranded Sorsoganons Finally Return Home

A total of 58 Sorsoganons who were stranded within different borders of Bicol Region finally returned to their respective homes, thanks to the “Sweeper Team” organized by Gov. Chiz Escudero via EO 21-2020.

The “Sweeper Team” is composed of representatives from Sorsogon Philippine National Police (PNP), Provincial Health Office (PHO), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).

Gov. Escudero received reports of several Sorsoganons who were left in different parts of Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte and Quezon. Some of them have been staying in their respective borders without rest for almost two days.

These 58 individuals have been brought to a quarantine facility in Sorsogon City before they were sent home.

Gov. Escudero further added that as medical team will monitor the overall health of Sorsoganons under quarantine, while the Provincial Government will provide their basic needs while in the facility.

“Hindi natin hahayaan na ang ating mga kababayan ay manatiling stranded. Tutulungan natin silang makauwi sa kani-kanilang mga tahanan”, Gov. Escudero said.
